Ireke Amoji is a playwright, actor, director and an award-winning independent movie producer. He has a BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of Nigeria and an extensive career as an advertising copywriter and award-winning advertising creative director. He recently relocated with his wife to Canada and is currently building a career in independent video production. He has written, produced, directed and acted in over fifteen Christian short stage plays for his local church in Calgary, where he heads its drama unit.
With a grant from the Calgary Arts Development Authority (CADA) in 2020, he created, wrote, produced and directed the pilot for Smell da Coffee, the first Afro-Canadian TV sitcom to be shot in Calgary. He is currently seeking partnerships to develop it into a full series. This is his first published online magazine article.
